SMS Terms & Opt-In

Effective June 7, 2026

Looking for the consent flow itself? See the live preview of the checkout opt-in card on /sms-opt-in — the exact unchecked checkbox + disclosure text customers see at every Palms Studio storefront.

Palms Studio ("we", "us") is a multi-tenant software platform that small businesses — flower shops, candle makers, gift boutiques, and similar handmade-goods sellers ("Tenants") — use to run their online storefronts. As part of the Service we send transactional text messages (SMS) to customers about the orders they place on Tenant storefronts, and to the shop owner when a new order is received. These SMS Terms describe what messages we send, how customers opt in, how to opt out, and related disclosures required by U.S. carrier regulations.

1. How Customers Opt In

Customer SMS is strictly opt-in. During checkout on every Tenant storefront, a customer enters their phone number and is presented with a checkbox that reads:

“Text me and the recipient updates about this order.”Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out.

The checkbox is unchecked by default. We do not assume consent from silence. A customer must affirmatively tick the box for any customer-facing SMS to be sent for that order. The consent is recorded on a per-order basis at the moment of purchase and is stored alongside the order record.

We do not purchase phone numbers, scrape contact lists, or send SMS to recipients who have not provided their phone number to a Tenant through a checkout we host.

2. What Messages We Send

Messages are transactional only — they relate to the status of an order the customer placed. We do not use this program for marketing, promotions, abandoned-cart recovery, or any other non-transactional purpose. Typical messages include:

  • Order confirmation, once payment is successfully processed.
  • Order in preparation, once the shop begins working on the order.
  • Out for delivery, when a delivery driver leaves the shop with the order.
  • Ready for pickup, when a pickup order is ready for the customer to collect.
  • Order completed, when delivery or pickup is confirmed.
  • Cancellation, when an order is cancelled by the shop or customer.

Example message:

Your order 20260607-0001 is confirmed! MY PEARL FLOWERS is preparing it. You’ll get an update when it’s on the way. Reply STOP to opt out.

3. Message Frequency

Frequency varies with the order. A simple pickup order may generate two messages (confirmation and ready for pickup). A delivery order typically generates four to five messages (confirmation, preparing, out for delivery, completed). We send only the status updates that are relevant to the order — no extra promotional or check-in messages.

4. Owner Notifications

Shop owners separately register their own phone number in their Palms Studio dashboard to receive a brief SMS when a new paid order is placed. This is owner consent for owner notifications only; it does not affect customer SMS permissions in any way.

5. How to Opt Out

Reply STOP to any message at any time to opt out. Opting out is immediate and irrevocable for that phone number until the customer affirmatively opts back in. The number will not receive any further customer-facing SMS from the Palms Studio platform, across any Tenant, until consent is renewed at a future checkout.

You may also opt out at any time by emailing privacy@palmstudio.app with your phone number.

6. HELP and Support

Reply HELP to any message to receive a short response with contact information. For questions about a specific order, contact the shop (Tenant) you ordered from directly — they handle order fulfillment and customer service. For questions about the SMS program itself, email privacy@palmstudio.app.

7. Carriers and Charges

Message and data rates may apply, based on your wireless plan. Palms Studio is not responsible for carrier charges. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages. Supported carriers include AT&T, Verizon, T-Mobile, Sprint, U.S. Cellular, Boost Mobile, MetroPCS, Virgin Mobile, Cricket, and most regional U.S. carriers.

8. Privacy

Phone numbers and SMS consent records are handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy. We do not sell phone numbers and we do not share them with third parties except as needed to deliver the messages described above (our SMS provider, Twilio, transmits each message on our behalf).

9. Changes

We may update these SMS Terms from time to time. Material changes will be reflected in an updated "Effective" date at the top of this page.

10. Contact
